God’s Purpose in Creation
God Created Mankind to be Like Him
God created mankind in his physical shape to be like him mentally and morally.
Genesis 1:26-27 - image and likeness refers to physical shape as well as mental and moral

God created the earth to be filled with his glory by being inhabited by people who are in his image and likeness
1 Corinthians 11:7 - Paul quotes “image and likeness” in Genesis 1:26 as “image and glory”
Exodus 33:18-23, 34:5-7 - the glory of God are his moral attributes and virtues in his character
Genesis 1:26-28 - God created man in his image and likeness (glory) to have dominion over the earth and to multiply and replenish the earth

God’s Purpose Will Be Fulfilled in Christ
God sent Jesus who was perfectly in the mental and moral image and likeness of his Father.

God has provided Christ that those who believe in faith may be changed to be like God.
